A Chinese Export Porcelain Famille Rose Four-Piece "Cockerel Upon Rockwork" Tea Service

Circa 1723-1735


comprising a teapot and three teacups.

Height 5 1/4 x width 7 1/4 x depth 4 inches (teapot).

Condition
Overall with some bubbling and chipping to glaze, predominantly to the yellow enamels. Some minor crazing to the enamel flowers. One cup with a minute hairline at the rim (approx. 1/8 in.). The teapot with a chip to the footrim. The decoration to the shoulder of the teapot with some discolored splotches that fluoresce under UV -- probably old overpaint or repair. Presents well as a set overall.
